Superintendent of Police S.V. Rajasekhar Babu on Wednesday launched the Crime-Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems (CCTNS), a Central government initiative, as a pilot project in Chittoor district with an objective to digitise all FIRs, charge-sheets and details of under-investigation cases.

The SP said though the district police had been computerising the records since 2006, the CCTNS project would enable them to establish a larger network and sharing of inter-State information.
