AP road projects approved by Centre

The Centre approved many road projects submitted by the Andhra Pradesh government. One of the proposals is the setting up of the regional office of the National Highways Development Agency. The State government has been told to recruit staff to man the regional centre.

The Centre has also okayed the Outer Ring Road Project for Amaravati. It has sought the DPR for the project within 6 months.

For the Chilakaluripet Bypass Highway project, the Centre has appointed a consultancy for preparing the DPR for the project. The project report should be finalised by July next.

AP road projects approved by Centre

The arrival of NITI Ayog Chairman, Arvind Pangariya, and the approvals for the road projects happened on Wednesday.

Good news for the commuters of AP. A crucial 1000 crore project for the development of roads in AP was approved by the Centre.

The Central Government on Monday said that the 800 kilometre long roads in the state would soon be converted into national highways. The central government has said this in an official statement to state government.

The Centre has also approved for a 180-km ring road around the proposed AP capital Amaravathi.

The Centre has also approved to link NH 44 with NH 65 to improve the connectivity to Amaravathi from Anantapur.

According to reports, the current roads would be converted to six to 8 lanes and the process will begin soon after the Government completes the land acquisition process.
