Seven night care beauty tips you must follow
After a long and taxing day, those 8 hours of sleep are what help you freshen up and soothe your senses completely. This time of the day is also the best time for your beauty regime to work wonders. So make most of it and give your skin and beauty all the attention they need. Here is what you should do as part of a regular night care regime for your beauty:
Showering is ideal for hygiene purposes as well as a good way to keep yourself hydrated before heading to bed. If you can, then bathe with cold water as this increases blood circulation and removes toxins from your body.
Cleanse and moisturise skin
Your skin needs to breathe and relax at this time. Apply a night cream or a moisturiser and massage it over your hands and legs. Also, wash your face with a deep cleanser and remove the make-up thoroughly from your face. You could use your preferred cleansing milk, apart from a make-up remover or if you have, some baby shampoo too. All you need to do is pour a drop of it on a cotton ball or wash cloth and use it over the eyes. As for a face moisturiser, use one that is made specifically for your face and skin type. For those with dry skin, this step shouldn’t be avoided as moisturising helps keep the skin hydrated, healthy and supple.
Ease out the eyes
This is the most crucial part of your beauty regime. You don’t want to wake up with your eyes swollen and puffy. For the puffy eyes problem, try placing an extra pillow under your head and sleep on your back, this will ensure fluids do not get accumulated. You could also massage the area under the eyes with some eye cream that has caffeine in it, or use a face massage cream instead. However, avoid eye creams with heavy fragrances as they can cause red eyes and irritation, instead pick ones that hydrate the skin.
If you can try wearing a scarf or sleeping on a pillow covered with a silk or satin pillowcase, as this prevents damage to the hair protecting it from turning rough or frizzy. Also, if you have to wash your hair, do so at night; as you will not have to use heated appliances to dry your hair. You could also apply a leave-in conditioner to make your hair shiny and smooth for the next day. If you are looking for some natural waves and curls, simply braid your hair into a loose plait over night and you will find your hair fall into the curls naturally.
It’s best to oil the tip of your hair at night as compared to the roots because they tend to be relatively dry. You could use any oil be it coconut, mineral or olive. This oiling regime helps keep the moisture intact and maintains dry hair better.
Your feet have been through a lot throughout the day. To help relax them, moisturise your toes and heels with some foot cream or body lotion and massage well. This will help soothe dry skin and eases irritation. You could also try wearing a pair of comfortable socks and sleeping with them on, however do this alternatively as accumulated moisture may give rise to fungal infections.
Spare a few minutes but don’t be in a rush while cleaning, cutting and filing your nails at night. Wipe off any chipped nail paint with some remover (if you realise your remover bottle is over, then just spray some deodorant or perfume on a cotton ball) and use it to clean off your nail paint. You shouldn’t have your nails painted all the time, instead let them be for a few days or apply a clear/transparent nail polish. Also, use some petroleum jelly, hand cream or cuticle cream to help keep your nails soft and healthy nails, you could also dip your nails in some olive oil for not more than 2-3 minutes for some deep conditioning.
